Lamb Of God - Upcoming Album Update

Lamb Of God have set "Sacrament" as the title of their highly anticipated album release, due late Summer 2006 via Epic Records.

The group has been unusually tight lipped about the new recording, turning down all but a select few in-studio and pre-studio interviews. No listening sessions, demo recordings or audio samples have been granted or released.

News from March 2nd notes that the band had once again tapped friend and producer Machine ('Ashes of the Wake') to handle the production duties for "Sacrament".

At that time drummer Chris Adler had the following to say:
"Everyone wants to know what the new material is like or have us compare it to something. It's tough to do because when your proud of something you want to say it's better than something else or that it's more of this or that. I don't want to do that - every Lamb Of God album has been a snapshot in time, a puzzle that spelled out who we are as individual musicians and as a band. They each represent a certain amount of experience and ability - and without saying more, we now have more of both of those than ever. We have continued to raise the bar for ourselves in every aspect of what we do, and we are expecting more of ourselves than ever heading into this. We're looking forward to tracking and releasing this intense and very heavy release."

News surfaced that as of April 11th drummer Chris Adler had finished tracking drums at Spin Recording studios in Long Island City, New York.

All interviews with Chris and his brother Willie Adler were cancelled during the drum tracking session and several more have been cancelled as the band continues tracking guitars and vocals in Richmond, VA.

In the most recent news from the camp guitarist Mark Morton had the following comments on the recording and the material:
"There's an intensity to this project that feels heavier than previous records. The vibe around the sessions has been serious. Not in a conflict sort of way, just more focused and driven than ever before. We know we're onto something. I've done very few interviews over the course of these sessions and everybody wants to know titles and track listings and details like that, but we're not coming off of that kind of stuff just yet. It's too early. This record's way too important to us to allow anyone in until the five of us are in agreement that it's exactly how we want it. It's definitely not a casual approach this time around. We really want this album to have an impact....it feels like it will."

Lamb Of God - "Killadelphia" Hits Gold

After dedicating a full year to their new album "Ashes of the Wake," Lamb Of God have achieved true success in the industry with their recent DVD release "Killadelphia" hitting Gold. In the past year, Lamb Of God have made an impact on two major summer tours (Sounds Of The Underground, Ozzfest 2004) and have played over 150 dates worldwide, and have even graced the covers of Outburn, Revolver, Metal Maniacs, and more.

Now, Lamb Of God's recent DVD release "Killadelphia" has officially sold over 50,000 DVDs to make it Gold. Here's what the band had to say:

Randall Blythe band vocalist states, "I woulda never thought ten years ago that our antics would be seen by so many people. I hope the DVD is made out of real gold so I can hock it and buy a new lawn mower."

Drummer, Chris Adler states "In today's age of gimmicks, lies and faux reality trying to make celebrities out of everyone with a few dollars, it was important for us to not stage or hype up a damn thing - to simply show Lamb Of God on the road; the good times, the bad times and one hell of a show- and for that stripped down, no-holds-barred approach to be received this well certainly flatters us, but also continues to make a dent in the industry full of fakes and talentless image. It's nice to know that we didn't have to be anything other than ourselves to achieve such success with this DVD, but the real praise should go to our friends and fans who picked up Killadelphia and in doing so have sent a message to the powers that be that we are sick of the over hyped, fake "real world" being shoved down our throats - we are all ready for the honest, genuine bands and music to take center stage once again."

"As a band we are extremely humbled by this achievement - it's rare that a band like ourselves receives this honor. Again, we pass along the thanks and praise to those of you who picked up Killadelphia. This is an accomplishment that we share with all of you. Thank you, congratulations and cheers!"

Lamb Of God - Banned from performing in LA

LAMB OF GOD has been BANNED from performing at the Forum in Los Angeles. The band is being forced to step aside from one of their arena concerts on the upcoming Subliminal Verses Tour with Slipknot.

The venue, The Forum in Los Angeles, is owned by The Faithful Central Bible Church who decided to impose a ruling to BAN LAMB OF GOD from performing at their venue.

LAMB OF GOD have come off of several extremely successful headlining runs through L.A. in the last year, so this move comes completely unexpected for the band and the tour as a whole. Los Angeles is, and has always been, a huge market for the band, building steadily with each one of their releases and tours and exploding with the bands current release Ashes of the Wake.

In deciding to BAN the band, The Faithful Central Bible Church are restricting freedom of speech, choice and assembly, and our art and ability to conduct commerce.

In response, drummer Chris Adler points out the following:
"The "situation" in LA can only be described as ridiculous. It has already been a huge waste of energy trying to turn this around. The powers that be are not interested budging - or doing their research apparently - and we have never been a band to placate anyone to get our way, smooth things over or make anyone feel better. They have made it clear that they do not want us because of our name, our show and our crowd - because of that ignorance, LAMB OF GOD is not being permitted to appear on the Subliminal Verses Concert in LA. It is truly a shame for the show overall, especially for our friends and fans in LA that are being forced to miss our part of the show. Trust that this was not our decision, we would love to kick some ass in LA, but apparently the word from the powers that be is that LAMB OF GOD is not the wholesome family fun that the good people of Los Angeles deserve."

Lamb Of God - A new album in August

The new LAMB OF GOD album "Ashes of the Wake" will be released on Tuesday, August 31, 2004.

The Epic Debut "Ashes of the Wake," is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2003 independent release on Prosthetic Records, "As The Palaces Burn" which Revolver Magazine calls "Album of the Year" and Rolling Stone praised "a meticulously crafted metal assault."

Produced by Machine, the new Album" Ashes Of The Wake" includes guest appearances by Megadeth's Chris Poland and Testament's Alex Skolnick.

As this goes to press all basic tracks have been laid down -Drummer Chris Adler tells us: "The tracking sessions have been very intense and the vibe in the studio is exciting to say the least. My drum tracks were done in Jersey in May and Randy is done as of today. It's been a giant sonic puzzle and as Willie, Mark, John and Randy have layered onto the basic drum mix - you can feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. It's like feeling the ground as a train approaches, you can tell how massive it is - and its coming fast. It's surreal at times - I think everyone involved knows we have a monster on our hands."
